India
North India’s Himalayan foothills offer a serene landscape where ancient pilgrimage routes, sacred rivers and quiet forests come together to create deeply spiritual experiences. This 9-day private journey is crafted for travellers who seek meaningful moments along the Ganges and peaceful stays in misty hillsides. The route blends devotional sites, river confluences, mountain drives and gentle retreats—allowing you to enjoy slow-paced, enriching travel.
From the evening lamps of Haridwar, the yoga-filled ambience of Rishikesh, the sacred confluence of Devprayag, and the quiet pine forests of Lansdowne, each destination carries its own spiritual rhythm. With private transport and thoughtful pacing, this itinerary ensures tranquillity, reflection and comfort throughout the journey.
Your spiritual journey begins as you arrive in Delhi and meet your private driver for a comfortable transfer to your hotel. After settling in, enjoy a quiet evening to rest and prepare for the days ahead. You may take a gentle walk around your hotel to familiarise yourself with the surroundings.
Delhi serves as a calm starting point, giving you space to relax before travelling deeper into North India’s spiritual belt. Tonight remains free for leisure.
Begin your drive to Haridwar, one of India’s oldest pilgrimage cities. As the landscape changes from urban to countryside, you are gradually introduced to the simplicity and spirituality that define this region. After checking in at your hotel, take some time to unwind or explore nearby markets filled with prayer items and local sweets.
In the evening, head to Har Ki Pauri for the iconic Ganga Aarti. The glowing lamps, rhythmic chants, and devotional energy create a mesmerising atmosphere along the riverbank. It is one of the most powerful spiritual experiences in North India.
Start your morning with visits to important temples such as Mansa Devi or Chandi Devi, offering panoramic city views and peaceful surroundings. Walking through Haridwar’s lanes, you will encounter small shrines, vendors and pilgrims engaged in daily rituals, bringing you closer to the city’s devotional heartbeat.
Later, enjoy time along the riverbank, watching devotees perform rituals or simply absorbing the soft sound of flowing water. The afternoon is ideal for exploring traditional bazaars, tasting local snacks or enjoying quiet moments by the Ganges.
After breakfast, drive to Rishikesh, often called the Yoga Capital of the World. Check in at your hotel and enjoy the refreshing atmosphere of this peaceful riverside town. Take a gentle walk around Ram Jhula or Lakshman Jhula to experience the blend of spirituality and natural beauty.
Later, visit ashrams such as Parmarth Niketan or Sivananda, where you may join a meditation session or simply enjoy the serenity of the riverfront settings. Rishikesh’s calming energy makes it a favourite destination for introspective travel.
Spend your morning exploring the quieter parts of Rishikesh, including secluded river ghats and tree-lined walking paths. Visit iconic locations such as Swarg Ashram or the Beatles Ashram if desired, where murals and open spaces create a unique artistic environment.
In the evening, attend the Ganga Aarti at Parmarth Niketan, a graceful ceremony marked by chanting and devotion. The atmosphere feels gentle and intimate, making it different from Haridwar yet equally meaningful.
Begin your scenic mountain drive toward Devprayag, where the Bhagirathi and Alaknanda rivers meet to form the sacred Ganga. Spend time at the confluence viewpoint, where emerald and turquoise waters merge beautifully against a backdrop of mountains and temples.
Continue your drive to Lansdowne, a peaceful hill station surrounded by pine and oak forests. Check in at your hotel and enjoy the crisp air and calm ambience. Evening remains at leisure to settle into the soothing rhythm of the hills.
Wake up to the refreshing scent of pine forests and begin your day with a gentle nature walk around Lansdowne. Visit viewpoints such as Tip-In-Top or Snow Viewpoint, where the Himalayan ranges appear in soft layers across the horizon. The quiet roads, minimal crowds and serene environment make Lansdowne ideal for reflection and relaxation.
In the afternoon, explore local churches, small cafés or simple hillside markets that capture the timeless charm of this cantonment town. Return to your hotel for a peaceful evening surrounded by nature’s silence.
This day is intentionally kept free to allow you to enjoy Lansdowne’s tranquil surroundings. Take a long forest walk, enjoy a relaxed breakfast on a balcony overlooking the valley or simply spend time reading, reflecting or meditating in nature.
The slow pace offers a beautiful contrast to busier pilgrimage towns, giving your mind time to absorb the spiritual experiences of the past days. Lansdowne’s serenity often becomes one of the most memorable parts of the entire journey.
After breakfast, begin your drive back to Delhi. The descent from the mountains offers beautiful views of open valleys, terraced fields and small villages. Enjoy short breaks along the route before reaching Delhi.
Your 9-day Spiritual Ganges & Himalayan Foothills Tour concludes upon arrival in the city, leaving you with meaningful memories of rituals, riverfronts, mountains and peaceful moments across North India.
