Kerala’s coastline, gentle backwaters and age-old healing traditions create an ideal environment for rejuvenation. This Ayurveda-focused private tour brings together restorative therapies, seaside calmness and natural surroundings, offering travellers the perfect setting to unwind and rebalance. With comfortable resorts, personalised Ayurvedic guidance and nourishing cuisine, every day supports holistic well-being.
The journey moves through Kovalam, Poovar and Varkala, each known for its soothing ambience and scenic beauty. Whether you are looking for quiet beach walks, authentic Ayurvedic treatments or simply a break from routine, this itinerary delivers a thoughtful blend of wellness, culture and serene landscapes — all supported by warm Kerala hospitality and reliable private transportation.
Upon arrival at Trivandrum Airport, meet your private driver and proceed to Kovalam, one of Kerala’s most loved beach destinations. Check in at your Ayurvedic resort and take time to relax after your journey. The calming seaside environment immediately sets the tone for a restorative holiday.
In the evening, enjoy a gentle walk along the crescent-shaped shores of Kovalam or simply unwind at the resort. A brief consultation with the Ayurvedic doctor may be arranged depending on your arrival time.
Your wellness journey begins with a morning consultation where an Ayurvedic physician designs a personalised treatment plan based on your body type and health goals. Treatments may include Abhyanga massage, Shirodhara, herbal steam therapy and restorative oil applications.
Spend the afternoon resting, reading or enjoying yoga sessions offered by the resort. The peaceful surroundings enhance the benefits of therapy, allowing both mind and body to slow down and absorb the experience.
After breakfast, drive to Poovar, a serene hideaway where rivers, lakes and the sea meet. Check in at your backwater resort, known for its tranquil setting and natural beauty. Many properties here float on the water, creating an exceptionally peaceful atmosphere.
Later in the day, continue with your Ayurvedic schedule or enjoy optional activities such as a backwater cruise. The quiet environment of Poovar is ideal for rejuvenation, reflection and gentle walks by the water.
The day centres around wellness, beginning with herbal therapies, massages and healing practices suggested in your treatment plan. These therapies support detoxification, relaxation and improved energy balance.
In the afternoon, rest in your cottage overlooking the water, enjoy a meditation session or simply take in the soothing views of swaying palms and slow-moving boats. Ayurvedic vegetarian meals prepared with fresh ingredients complement the day’s healing focus.
This morning, leave Poovar and travel to Varkala, a cliffside beach town known for dramatic ocean views and a soothing atmosphere. Upon arrival, check in at your resort and enjoy free time to explore the coastal pathways and cafés along Varkala’s cliffs.
In the evening, watch the sunset from the cliff-top viewpoints, where the combination of fresh sea breeze and panoramic views creates a deeply calming experience.
Start the day with Ayurvedic treatments tailored to your ongoing wellness programme. The therapies continue to support physical relaxation, stress reduction and improved vitality.
Spend the rest of the day enjoying Varkala’s serene beaches or exploring the local handicraft shops and peaceful temples. The gentle rhythm of the town blends perfectly with the wellness-focused retreat.
After breakfast, drive back to Trivandrum, where you may spend time visiting selected attractions such as Padmanabhaswamy Temple, local markets or quiet cafés. Check in at your hotel and relax for the rest of the day.
If desired, an additional Ayurvedic session can be arranged depending on resort availability and timing. The city’s cultural energy offers a gentle contrast to the coastal retreats experienced earlier in the journey.
Your 8-day Kerala Ayurveda & Wellness Retreat concludes with a comfortable transfer to Trivandrum Airport. The therapies, peaceful landscapes and restful experiences leave you refreshed, balanced and ready to return to everyday life with renewed energy.
