Verdant hills, misty forests and aroma-filled coffee estates define this immersive journey through South India’s plantation heartland. Crafted for travellers who enjoy nature, tranquillity and authentic rural charm, this itinerary blends comfortable stays in plantation retreats with engaging experiences across Coorg, Chikmagalur, Sakleshpur, Wayanad and Mysore. Every destination highlights a different facet of the region — from lush estates and trekking trails to spice-covered slopes and wildlife-rich landscapes.
Travelling with a private driver, you enjoy scenic routes, peaceful resorts and opportunities to explore at your own pace. Whether walking through centuries-old estates, tasting freshly brewed coffee, visiting waterfalls or experiencing local culture, this plantation-focused South India tour captures the earthy beauty and warm hospitality of the region.
Arrive at Bangalore or Kannur Airport and begin your journey toward Coorg, a hill district known for its cool climate and aromatic estates. Check in at your plantation stay, surrounded by lush greenery and quiet pathways. Spend the remainder of the day relaxing in the natural environment, enjoying the estate’s peaceful ambience.
In the evening, take a leisurely walk through the plantation or sit by the verandah with a cup of freshly brewed local coffee. The tranquil surroundings offer a gentle introduction to South India’s evergreen landscapes.
Start the day with a guided walk through the estate to learn about coffee cultivation, pepper vines and cardamom groves that flourish in the region. The rich fragrance of the plants and the soft rustle of leaves create a soothing environment for exploration.
Later, visit nearby natural attractions such as Abbey Falls or Raja’s Seat, both offering scenic views and refreshing breezes. Return to the estate for a relaxed evening with opportunities for light activities or quiet rest.
After breakfast, travel through rolling hills and forested valleys toward Chikmagalur, one of India’s oldest coffee-growing regions. On arrival, check in at your heritage or plantation retreat, where the scent of roasted beans fills the air.
Spend the afternoon exploring the surroundings or take a leisurely estate tour to understand the region’s coffee history. The peaceful atmosphere, coupled with the charm of traditional architecture, makes Chikmagalur a wonderful place to unwind.
Begin your day amidst tranquil landscapes with a guided plantation walk. Learn about Arabica and Robusta varieties, harvesting methods and the region’s connection with India’s earliest coffee cultivation.
In the second half of the day, visit Mullayanagiri or Baba Budangiri hills for incredible panoramic views. The cool winds and expansive mountain scenery create memorable moments throughout the journey.
This morning, set off for Sakleshpur, a lesser-known gem surrounded by dense forests, plantations and mist-covered hills. After checking in at your nature resort, enjoy the unhurried pace of this serene region.
Spend your time exploring nearby trails, relaxing under tall trees or observing the rich birdlife. Sakleshpur’s untouched beauty makes it an excellent destination for those who enjoy quiet, nature-centric travel.
Continue your journey toward Wayanad, a picturesque district known for its wildlife sanctuaries, tea gardens and spice-covered slopes. On arrival, check in at your resort and take a break amid its refreshing environment.
In the evening, explore the surroundings or visit nearby viewpoints that offer sweeping views of forests and hills. The region’s blend of tranquillity and biodiversity adds depth to your plantation travel experience.
Dedicate the day to exploring Wayanad’s attractions, which may include Pookode Lake, Soochipara Waterfalls or wildlife viewpoints depending on interest. The area offers a combination of natural beauty and mild adventure.
Later, relax at your resort or take a short walk through pepper plantations and spice farms that dot the region. The gentle pace and clean mountain air make Wayanad ideal for unwinding.
After breakfast, proceed to Mysore, a historic city known for its palaces, markets and cultural charm. Upon arrival, visit Mysore Palace, where grand architecture and royal heritage come together beautifully.
In the evening, stroll through Devaraja Market or enjoy quiet time at your hotel. Mysore offers a pleasant contrast to the plantation landscapes experienced earlier in the tour.
Your 9-day South India coffee plantation tour concludes with your transfer to Mysore or Bangalore Airport. The scenic drives, peaceful estates and nature-filled days leave you with meaningful memories of South India’s countryside.
